| Auricular Acupuncture DETOX-Practitioners Certificate This module is designed for Agencies as a stand alone ‘Detoxification Practitioners Certificate’. Individuals are taught the basic theory of Auricular Acupuncture with particular emphasis on the detoxification process in substance misuse. On the practical side you will learn how to locate the primary detoxification points using ear needles. Safe auricular acupuncture needling practice, techniques and controls are an important feature of the course. Who is this Course for? (Entry Requirements) DETOX courses are offered ‘in-house’ where six or more people require training. This course is a specialised programme for Agencies within the Prison Service, Substance Misuse / Mental Health fields. Guidance, resources and support are available for students with learning difficulties/disabilities and those in need of literacy support. Resources available Pre-Course Reading is given to each student prior to the course commencing. There is an auricular acupuncture folder given to each student to study and refer to throughout the course. Rubber ears are used as a practical training tool. Methods of Assessment and Accreditation Throughout the course the tutors continually help students with regular, informal feedback on both the practical needling part of the course and the theory. Students are awarded the Auricular Acupuncture Detoxification Practitioners Certificate once they have passed the practical and theory assessments.
