
Reassessment
| Important Note for Practitioners
Please remember that if you wish to continue practising and your certificate is due to expire, you must be reassessed. Failure to be reassessed may invalidate any insurance and you will be unable to continue practicing until completion of the reassessment.
The aims and objective of reassessment are:
1. To inform and maintain high standards of safe clinical practice for Auricular Acupuncture as practiced throughout the U.K.
2. To assess the accuracy and competency of the practitioner to carry out Auricular Acupuncture to the highest level of their attained status. (Detox, Intermediate or Comprehensive Diploma).
Reassessment Programme
1. Assess practitioners on auricular acupuncture point location. 2. Assess practitioners on auricular acupuncture point insertion. 3. Assessment questionnaire to be completed and checked on basic theory, safe clinical practice. 4. Up to date information on Health and Safety Protocols. 5. Up to date information on VSR (Voluntary Self Regulation) or SSR (Statutory Regulation of Acupuncture).
At the end of the Session
1. Feedback from practitioners on their auricular acupuncture experiences. 2. Information on Comprehensive Diploma in Auricular Acupuncture. 3. Any other queries.
What you need to do to be reassessed
1. Send a copy of your current insurance policy. 2. Send a fully completed Registration form with your payment of £60. Click here to download an annual reassessment form (pdf format). 3. Bring a copy of the current code of safe clinical practice and code of ethics for Auricular Acupuncture.(downloadable from the forum page) to your reassessment. 4. Please send all the required information above to: The Society of Auricular Acupuncturists, 29 Liverpool Lawn, Ramsgate, Kent CT11 9HJ.
Please don’t forget it is you who is being reassessed and not the agency you represent, therefore it is your personal responsibility to ensure that full payment is received before your reassessment date. At your reassessment, you will be able to collect a receipt for reimbursement from your agency or for your business records.
You will not receive a new certificate unless full payment has been made. This could lead to a period in which you will be unable to practice.

Please be aware that it is your personal responsibility to be reassessed before your certificate expiry date. Failure to do so will mean that you will no longer be able to practice after your certificate expires, and may invalidate your insurance.
